Your Victory Stance Is Secure

Difficult circumstances come for us sometimes and some situations are more challenging to deal with than others. However, even in turbulent times, our positioning in Christ still does not change. What do we need to know to help us through these moments in life where we feel like the circumstance is trying to take us under?

As Christians, when we're going through times that challenge our faith, we are fully aware of the scriptures that we can quote. But oftentimes when going through hardship it can feel routine when we quote them and we can feel disconnected as we are reminded of what the Word says. Our faith in those moments is being stretched and questions can arise within our heart of what we believe. Our emotions can override our faith at times and if we're not careful we can quickly "go inward" where we feel secure in protecting our own heart from the pain and the insecuity that comes when we don't feel in control of our lives. But let me encourage you to understand that the feeling to "go inward" only provides a false sense of security.
Jesus told us in John 16:33(b), "In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world." Unpleasant circumstances happen in life and no one has been promised immunity from them; however, we are to approach the difficult circumstances with the assurance that we do have victory over the mental anguish, the discouragement, the uncertainties, the anger, the bitterness, the misunderstandings, the dilemmas that can come with the challenges of life. It may sound cliche if you're currently discouraged in the midst of a battle, but there's real power in knowing that your position of victory through Christ's resurrection does not change. Just because your life's circumstances have changed, does not mean that God has changed and neither has your positioning. You are victorious! You will come out on the other side of the challenge with the win!
God promises in Romans 8:28, "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." He is faithful and His promise to never leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6 and Hebrews 13:5) still stands. We also still stand in victory no matter what is going on. Jesus' resurrection from the dead is our guarantee that He will bring us through any situation and it will all work for our good in the end. We do get the win in every situation when we go through it with Him. The key is to go through with Him. Fight the urge to go inward and allow Him to protect your heart through it all. He is faithful and He will give you the stamina you need to press on.
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
God help us to trust you in every circumstance, whether good or bad. You do not change and neither does our positioning in you. You have promised to work all things together for our good and we hold on to that promise. Help us to move forward day by day in the faith that holds us up through your Word. Thank you for strengthening us and encouraging us to keep going as your Word has promised us that our victory stance is secure in you. We love you and we thank you. Amen.
