He's Here for the Small Things Too

One thing I love about God is that I can ask him for help with anything - nothing is too big or small. I was recently reminded of that truth when I became aware of my thinking surrounding something I was trying to figure out for myself.

I remember having the thought, "Valerie, you have to figure some things out on your own. God doesn't have to do everything for you." But then I realized the deception of pride in that thought and I'm thankful to God for helping me to see clearly in that moment. The Father tells us many times in the Word that He is here for us for anything we need. "Cast your cares upon Me for I care for you." ~ 1 Peter 5:7; "Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and the door will be opened for you." ~ Matthew 7:7-8; "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all of your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path." ~ Proverbs 3:5. There's more, but you get the picture.

When we think, even in the minor things, that we shouldn't "bother God," then that's right where the enemy wants us to be because then he can isolate us in our thinking and in our own ways. Thinking in any way that goes against our dependency on God exposes pride in our hearts. And it doesn't have to be intentional pride, but it's pride nonetheless, and we have to repent for it. I mean, pride is what got satan kicked out of Heaven! The Father wants us to embrace the love and intimacy He wants with us at every level of our need. We serve such an awesome God! Allow His love, kindness, and wisdom to flow in and through you for every part of your life. We need to totally depend on Him at all times and for every season of our lives.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Lord, thank you for the realization of our need for you. Thank you that you want to be here for us to meet every level of our need. You are everything! Show us any area of our lives where we are operating independent and not surrendered to you. We want you to be involved in our lives, Lord - the big and the small things we give to you completely. We love you and we thank you. In Jesus' name. Amen.
