Why Are You Waiting?

Is there a gift in you that's sitting dormant? Do you feel stuck? What's keeping you from moving forward? A lot of times our careful intentions to not "miss God" can cause us to experience "paralysis of analysis" and delay the display of the gifting within you that the world needs.

Recently, I've been thinking and praying about relaunching a business that I've operated before. I remember a time when I would have thought the idea to death! I would mull it over and over and the analysis of paralysis would eventually kick in as I prayed and stalled and prayed and stalled because I didn't want to miss God's will for my life. The fearful "what if's" would be plentiful in my mind causing me to take forever to make a decision. I have since learned to identify when the spirit of fear is in operation and I'm more successful in avoiding the pitfalls that it brings.
In Matthew 25:14-30, Jesus gives the parable of the rich man who gave talents to three men. They each received a certain number of talents. One received five talents, another received two talents, and the other received one talent. The man gave them the talents and went away with the expectation that they would use them wisely. And guess what? He didn't tell them what to do with the talents! He wanted to see what they would do with them. In the same way with our individual and unique talents, God is waiting to see what we make of them. He's given us the ability to create, to increase, to grow. Do we leave Him out of the equation? Absolutely NOT! We need His wisdom to guide us through the process as we prayerfully MOVE forward. The key word there is move.
We have to decide to do something with the talents God has given us. He instructs us in the Word to write the vision and make it plain so he that reads it can run with it (Habbakkuk 2:2). I encourage you, as I do the same, to pray about what's in your heart and as you pray, write the vision down. Put to paper what you would like to see and ask God to help you strategize. As the vision becomes more clear, begin to take the necessary steps to activate the strategies that you've written. God will do His part as we do our part. In looking back at the story of the talents, the man eventually returned to see the fruits of their talents. In the same way, God is looking for the fruits from our talents. Be encouraged as you move forward that He is waiting for you to move with Him!
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Lord, thank you for gifting us with your talents. Your Word says that our gifts make room for us (Proverbs 18:16). As we move forward with you, guide us in the right direction. Open the right doors. Connect us with the right people. We thank you that you have blessed us to move in the giftings and talents that are in us for your glory alone. Amen.
