The Power of Testimony

God has designed us so beautifully in this world to need to rely on one another, so much so that sharing what God has done in your life can make a difference in someone else's day today.

I've been reminded lately of the need to share my testimony more. It's so easy to go about life from day to day working, running errands, fulfilling our roles as spouse and parent and not giving much thought to the importance of sharing our stories. I thank God for His gentle reminder to me to be more mindful of opportunities to do this. My prayer is that He helps me to recognize these opportunities and to share my story in a way that is natural, engaging, and where it doesn't feel forced.

The Bible tells us in Revelation 12:11, "And they overcame him (the devil) because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony..." One way we conquer the schemes of the devil is by encouraging one another through our individual testimonies. We strengthen each other when we share the goodness of God in our lives. 1 Peter 3:15 tells us to always be ready to give an answer for the hope that lies within us. Our testimony plays a vital part in our ability to reach people. There's always someone who can connect with your story and it can speak to them in a way that someone else's story may not.

If you're more introverted, like me, I encourage you to be more intentional to step outside of your comfort zone and be on the lookout for those open doors that engage others with who you are. The blessing will be reciprocal.

Lord, thank you for helping us to be better people in this world. Life is not just about us, but it's about us living our lives to be a blessing to others. Thank you for your gentle reminders that continue to reflect your love for us and your interest in our daily lives. We love you and we thank you. Amen.
