Seeking the Kingdom!

Matthew 6:33 says, "Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you."

I am reminded of how important it is for us, as God's children, to set our focus on His Kingdom and be Kingdom minded. We are so inundated with the viewpoints of this world in every sector of business, family, career, education, etc. that we often adopt those viewpoints as the way it should be. For example, the world says that if you want something you should go hard after it. No one is going to do anything for you. If you want it, you have to go get it no matter what it takes or what sacrifices you have to make. Proverbs 3 says, "Trust in the Lord with all you heart and don't lean to your own understanding. In all of your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path." God wants us to be successful in the things that He has ordained for us to be successful in and that should be our prayer.

Our will and God's will must align. Just because someone else did things a certain way and got certain results, does not mean that that's the path God wants you to follow. We have to pray that God helps us to remove those worldly ideals from our heads and get into the Word of God to understand what our Kingdom focus should be for every area of our lives. God has and never will fail us. His ways are higher, and I might add, better, than ours and His thoughts are higher. He knows the paths that we should take for every decision in life. We just have to trust Him to show us and stop thinking that some things are too small to take to God. Why would God have to tell me this? He gives me common sense, right? That's the enemy's trap to get us to lean on our own understanding. There is nothing too big or too small to take to God in prayer, to put before Him to ask for His leading in. As a matter of fact, He wants us to do that. He didn't tell us to bring only the big things to Him.

That's why this walk is by faith because we don't see in the world the way the Lord tells us to live, behave, respond. His ways are totally opposite to what we see, hear and feel in our flesh and in the world at large. God has ways that we must yield to in order to have His Kingdom focus ruling in our lives.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Lord, help us to humble ourselves and really seek to understand the Kingdom perspective that Jesus had. Help us to LIVE the Kingdom perspective, Lord. We want our eyes to be focused on you and what your ways are so that we can properly represent you in the earth and so that we're no longer tripped up by the world's ideologies. We love you and we thank you, Amen.
