Matter More in 2024!

As we have been blessed to move into a new year, a lot of us are setting our sights on how to have better experiences in this year than we did in the last one.

Last year may have been more challenging for some than others, but the fact that we're still here says to us that there is still more for us to do in this earth. God's plan is still good, active and moving us forward. We need to be on the same page with Him in order to receive all that He has for us. Last year on the blog, I talked a lot about my own healing journey through anxiety, trauma, and rejection. Believe me, this is still an ongoing journey for me. I believe healing is an intentional, daily process of releasing and receiving. I choose to release the old, negative mindsets and hurts to God and receive the truth of His Words over my life - daily.

With this in mind, how will you show up in 2024? I'm asking the same question of myself. I've been sharing some goals with those around me that I've set for my life to matter more this year. The thing we have to keep in mind is how our life impacts others. It would be sad to leave this world and not leave a positive legacy. I mean, who are you really at your core? Do others know that person? Does your generosity show? Does love and kindness show? Does peace and joy show? Does goodness and gentleness show? If so, how? If not, why? What ways can we improve on these areas of our lives, even if we're already doing a good job of it. We are continuously, through surrendering to God, being transformed into His image from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18), so there's always room to grow.

We have to analyze the person who we are and who we want to be, but be certain to analyze according to God's truth. Second Corinthians 13:5 says, "Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you - unless indeed you fail the test?" God's Word is what we have to examine ourselves by, not what society says. There are many instances in the Bible where Jesus was giving of Himself in meeting the needs of others - patiently and unselfishly. Lord, help us to be more like you.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Lord, help us to be more intentional and purposeful towards others as you are. We are in this flesh, but you have shown us that we do have victory over it and it's selfish desires. We can be more giving of ourselves and trust you with our hearts in the process. Thank you for helping us to make our lives matter more this year as we seek to bring your name glory in the earth. We love you and we thank you. Amen.
