He Wants It All

Sometimes we have to remind ourselves of the most foundational parts of our Christian faith. For me, that happens when I slow down and reflect on the love that God has for me.

Lately, I've been reading through the book of Ephesians and I've become more mindful of the need to slow down and really take in the passages that I'm reading. Sometimes, especially with parts of the Bible that we've heard so often, we can move through them pretty quickly. But we can miss the message that can be imparted to us when we don't take the time to really think about what's being said.

Ephesians 1:4-5 tells us about how God predetermined within Himself to choose us to be in Him even before He created the Earth! And that He predestined us to be a child of His through Jesus Christ according to His own good will. Think on those words. We've heard it a million times before, but did you really take it in? He chose YOU before you were even here! He wanted you as His own child before you even knew who He was. I'm so thankful!

If I can believe that He loves me that much to choose me in spite of my faults and before I even made a fault, then I can trust Him with my whole life. I can trust that He has my best interest in mind and that He will handle my heart well. I can trust that He knows me better than I know myself and that He knows what's best for me better than I do. Truly His ways are higher than my ways and His thoughts are higher than my thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9) and because of this and because of the love I believe He has for me, I can release myself to love Him and give Him ALL of me. I can give Him my whole heart to take care of and He won't fail me. I encourage you to put all of your trust in the Lord.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Lord, thank you for your love for us. Help us to put all of our trust and our hope in you and you alone. We know that you take good care of your children and we are one of them, so thank you for holding us close. We ask that the Holy Spirit would help us to release anything that may be hindering us from walking closely with you. We benefit greatly when we allow you to have your way in our lives. We love you and we trust you. In Jesus' name, Amen.
