He's Got Us!

Inflation has a lot of us watching our spending much more carefully. Costs have continued to rise even though we're being told the economy has been slowing down. The world we knew five years ago is long gone and the Lord only knows what lies ahead.

I don't mean to sound negative, but those statements are just true of the society that we live in today. The encouragement that I want to share is that we always, as Christ followers, have to keep our head in the game knowing that God is our Source and nothing else. Our jobs are the resource, not the source. When Jesus tells us in Matthew 6, "Don't worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about the body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothes?...Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?" What He's telling us is that He's got us! He's got the whole world in His hands.

His promise to keep us is not conditional upon life's circumstances. He didn't say that He would only keep us when there wasn't concerns of inflation! He means in everything for us to not worry about our life. That's hard to do sometimes when the pressure is on and the situation is staring us in the face. But that's where leaning into Jesus comes in. We can't allow ourselves to depend on ourselves. We have to depend on Him and trust that He will continue to provide for us, because when we really believe the love that He has towards us, then we believe that He will continue to make a way for us. And He will provide us with the wisdom needed for every situation that we encounter when we bring the situation to Him.

The devil wants us to be confined by fear and fretting. He wants us to be hindered and distracted by all of the things, but keeping our focus and faith in God keeps us steadfast and assured that our Lord will never leave us hanging. He takes care of His children, but we must believe that He does and that He will. So, I encourage you to let go of fear and grab hold of faith. Don't allow the circumstances of life, especially what you can't control, to disturb your peace. Allow God to continue to pour His love on you through the Word. Feed your soul the truth over the facts that you see occurring in the world today. Nothing catches Him by surprise and He knows how to protect and take care of us as we stay near to Him.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Lord, we thank you for your goodness in our lives. We are appreciative to have you and we have come to know and believe the love that you have towards us (John 4:16). Keep our minds and our hearts, Lord. We want to stay focused on what you tell us in your Word no matter what challenges life may bring. You are our Source and we rely solely on you. Thank you that you are enough for us. We love you and we thank you. Amen.
