Draw Me Nearer

It is vital that we draw closer to God in order to hear what the Lord is saying to us and to allow Him to use us in this earth.

We draw nearer to God through prayer, rehearsing the Word of God to ourselves, and encouraging each other through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs in hearts of praise to the Lord (Ephesians 5:19). Yes, as a body we also help each other draw near as we fellowship together in the love of the Lord. The message today is to simply have a heart that is open to drawing closer to God. Ask God to fill your heart with a desire to know Him more. Ask Him to shape your thinking through His Word. We need God to help us do what it takes to serve Him.

Sometimes we think that as a Christian these things should just come automatically, but God knew that we would need His help to live out our faith in this life. That's why He sent His Holy Spirit to help us. Call upon the help of the Lord to keep you close to the Cross. Never be ashamed to ask for His help. We can go to the Lord about anything for we need Him for everything. Our dependency is upon Him.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Lord, keep us near the Cross. We want our hearts to be full of your love. Your love draws, Lord, so may your love be evident in our lives to draw others closer to you. Fill us again, Lord, as we move about in the earth. We need you to help us stay full of your love and your light in this earth. We love you and we thank you. In Jesus' name, Amen.
