Don't Judge A Book By It's Cover

It's so wonderful to know that God does not judge us by our outward appearance but by our heart. I Samuel 16:7 says, "...for the Lord sees not as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." We've all been guilty of making assumptions about a person based on their demeanor or how they're dressed or what others have told you about them. But we shortchange ourselves of the gift that others can bring to our lives when this is done.

This morning I had the privilege of hearing a young lady share her passion about what she's been able to accomplish for the homeless population in her area. But to her these "homeless people" are friends. I've included a YouTube link in this post to the interview that she did on Steve Harvey's TV show. She calls herself a gangster, but this young lady and her faith was so inspirational. To some with judgments based on her being from "the hood," she would be an unlikely person with this story but that's why it's beautiful to be reminded of how we're to treat each other with love and do good works and leave the judging up to God.

I was so inspired by this beautiful young woman and her ability to move in blind faith, that I wanted to use this week's post to highlight her story. I hope you take the time to watch the video and be just as inspired as I was.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Lord, help us to always be mindful of how we treat people. We pray for hearts that readily give of ourselves to bless others in whatever way you desire to use us each day. We humble ourselves before you and we pray that the things you have put in us to bless the world would come forth in Jesus' name. Amen.
