Consistency Is Key

It's so easy for our days to be filled with so much busyness. It's the nature of the society that we live in. But as Believers we have to be intentional to not allow the busyness to hinder what's most important.

I've been thinking lately about how vital consistency is in our relationship with the Lord. Staying consistent in prayer and reading the Word is vital to our spiritual life in Christ. This is nothing new and we already know it, but often times we can let life distract us from the importance of this basic truth that we know so well. I'm sure we've all been guilty of slacking off on reading scripture and spending time with God daily. It could be due to a number of things (forgot to set the alarm, poor time management, work overwhelm, etc). But when life is running us and we're not running our life, then we have a serious problem. And this is not a judgement post, because believe me, I've certainly been guilty.
But one thing I have grown to realize over my life is how dependent I am on the Lord. I mean I NEED Him. My need for Him feeds my desire to spend time with Him and to build myself up in the faith (Jude 1:20). So, my prayer life is not optional; it's a necessity. Meditating (speaking) the Word to myself is vital for my growth and maturity in this walk (Joshua 1:8). So, skipping time with Him is like skipping meals. We all have to eat and we all need to be with Him - daily. Let's not take this time He's given us for granted. We never know when we'll be standing before His throne. Why not practice our intimacy with Him daily while in the Earth? Our relationship with Him there will be an extension of our intimacy with Him here. It's vital for us to be with Him everyday. Lord we need you!
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Lord, thank you for the opportunity to have a relationship with you. You are so gracious to us and you love us so dearly. Help us to know and believe the love that you have towards us
(I John 4:16). You are everything to us and we want to be consistent in our prayer life with you daily. Holy Spirit, correct us, teach us, and guide us on this journey. Don't let our hearts be turned away from the Lord. Keep us on this path as we move about in life. We thank you and we love you, Lord. Amen.
Amen!!
