Have you ever been stuck in the paralysis of analysis? I certainly know I have. Fear of making the wrong decision can certainly be paralyzing if we don't know how to conquer it.

Recently, I was talking with my daughter about a decision that she has to make. She has such a desire to know without a doubt which direction to go with her decision before she commits, but it doesn't always work out that way. Lord knows I've been where she is many times over and I can certainly understand the pure desire of wanting to know God's will before making a move on anything. However, while we do serve a God who definitely wants us to include Him in our decision making, He also wants us to walk in faith while trusting that He will guide us along the way. He wants us to bring our desires and our cares to Him and trust that He will lead us by His Holy Spirit.

While talking with my daughter, I was reminded of Abraham in Genesis 12:1 when the Lord told him, "Leave your country, your family, and your father's home for a land that I will show you." Did God tell Abraham when to leave? Did He tell Abraham which direction to go first? "Did Abraham wait and get paralyzed in analysis before He made a move? No. No. No. Abraham had to trust the Word that He had received and move on it. God ordered His steps along the way the same way He promises to do for us in Psalm 37:23-24, Proverbs 16:9, Proverbs 3:5-6 and many, many more scriptures that speak of How God leads and directs the steps of His people. He just doesn't always lead the same way, meaning He may speak instructions to you directly one time, but He may speak as you move another time.

One day I was praying about a business that my husband and I felt we needed to start. In prayer, the Lord said to me, "I'm waiting on you!" Isn't that something? There I was praying for Him to show us we were making the right move and He was just waiting for us to move in faith. As you go, you know! Get moving on what's in your heart. It may just be that God wants to show you the way as you go.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Lord, we thank you for helping us to trust you more. We want your plan for our life, but sometimes we want to know the plan before we move. Help us to trust the Holy Spirit to guide us in our decision making. You assure us that all things work together for the good of those who love you and are the called according to your purpose (Romans 8:28). We love you and we thank you. Amen.
